New Digital HV Protection Hardware Platform Design

Abstract: With the development of hardware and software technology, the capability of Digital HV Protection has been improved effectively. On the basis of successful experiences on traditional relay protection, we designed a new hardware platform system of DSP & MPU. This system improved the characteristic of calculating ability and logical function, abundant peripheral source, with CMOS chips of large capability adopted, So as to ensure the Digital HV Protection in high-speed & real time calculating, modul programming, fault processing report and complicated protection principle, with sufficient hardware source redundance. This article introduced the design idea, technology character, and working principle of such hardware platform, as well as a concret example.
